The 2016 Malene Rosé is reminiscent of the fine Rosés of Provence, both mouth-filling and crisp, dry and complex. The Grenache supplies the backbone with copious honeydew melon and strawberry aromatics, as well as a delicious creamy texture on the palate.
The soft and supple mouthfeel is supported by sweet oak tannins and fresh fruit character, finishing with a juicy acidity that is This Cabernet embodies an enticing array of ripe red fruit, intermixed with notes of graham cracker, allspice and dried tobacco. Edoardo Seghesio first worked with Sangiovese in the late 1800s during his tenure as winemaker at Italian Swiss Colony. In 1910, he planted a Chianti field blend surrounding the railroad station in what was then Chianti, California. Those Sangiovese plantings on our Home Ranch are the oldest in America and provided the rich source of two unique clones for our subsequent plantings of the varietal.

The nose on our 2014 Barbera exhibits freshly opened cherry blossoms in spring, light and delicately lifted by oak-imparted vanilla aromas. Bright acidity highlights the entry and finish with soft tannins in the mid-palate of this food-friendly Italian varietal.
The fruit for this vintage was chosen from our premier vineyard sites throughout the Napa Valley, mainly the Rutherford and Oakville appellations. Deep ruby in color, this wine boasts aromas of raspberry and blueberry perfumed with floral notes and touches of cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, cherry and raspberry fruit comes forward with layers of cassis, blueberry, vanilla cream, spice, and a sweet note. Our Old Vine Zinfandel blends vineyards planted on the Dry Creek bench and the cooler southwest Alexander Valley. Although “old vine” is often loosely interpreted in the wine industry, our benchmark is minimum 50 years. However, the average age of our vines is approximately 70 years old. True old vine Zinfandel is distinguished by head-trained vines with thick, gnarled trunks and is planted with ancient clones dating back to the turn of the century.
We source this intense, elegant wine from our four estates in Stags Leap District. We harvest the vineyards by hand in the cool night hours and age the wine in new French oak. The wine displays ripe black and red fruit characters with hints of cocoa powder and black licorice, and it stands up well to rich, roasted pork or dark chocolate truffles.
The 2015 vintage produced a wine that is effusive, with a round center and fresh, vivid finish. The bouquet exhibits enticing aromas of ripe papaya, lime oil, lemongrass and flint. Opening with juicy notes of Asian pear, nectarine and lemon cream, the palate exhibits a lively, bright mouthfeel. Subtle undertones of citrus blossom, spice drops and a distinctive minerality linger on the clean, lasting finish.
